Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clubhouse Bat Boy is responsible for managing equipment, retrieving bats, and organizing the dugout during baseball games while helping to ensure the needs of players, coaches, and staff are met. Candidates must be willing to work event-based hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark's schedule requires.  

This position will be located on-site in Clearwater, FL.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up the dugout and bullpen with equipment and materials such as balls, water, cups, towels, and other equipment.
  • Retrieve foul balls, bats, and other equipment during the game. Assist players with any additional equipment needs.
  • Deliver baseballs to the home plate umpire as needed.
  • Post-game cleanup of dugout and bullpen areas, as well as cleaning shoes and other equipment.
  • Wear the team uniform provided on game days while on the field, including a helmet, which is required to be worn at all times.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Knowledge of baseball is preferred.
  • Ability to run and walk quickly in extreme heat and or other weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, climb up/down stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the team's schedule.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
