Job description

Summary

The Graduate Assistant - Men's Basketball supports the Head Men's Basketball Coach in the overall administration and daily operations of the NCAA Division II men's basketball program. This role assists with player development, practice planning, skill instruction, opponent scouting, recruiting activities, team travel coordination, scheduling, and game-day preparation. The Graduate Assistant also supports compliance-related requirements, including completion of required NCAA modules, and performs other duties that contribute to the success, safety, and development of student-athletes and the program.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the overall management and daily operations of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball program.

  • Support recruiting activities.

  • Assist with team travel, scheduling, logistics, and game-day preparation.

  • Assist with scouting, film review, statistical analysis, and preparation of practice and game plans to support team performance and competitive readiness.

  • Assist with coordination, planning, and coaching of the JV and/or developmental team.

  • Participate in community engagement, campus events, and program-related activities, and perform other duties as assigned in support of the Athletics Department and Men's Basketball program

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be accepted into or registered in a Barry University graduate program.

  • Bachelor's degree required; basketball experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, practice planning, and player development.

  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel; valid U.S. driver's license required if driving is assigned.
