Position Summary

Theย Operations Supervisor supervises and coordinates event setup activities and operations for the facility.

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$22.00

This position will remain open until October 23, 2026.

About the Venue

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space, and an arena-view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Men's and Women's basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Not only a music and sports venue, the arena is also frequently used for trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise event sets/conversions
  • Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of changeover staff
  • Supervise event support staff (stand-by staff, stagehands, fire panel) during events
  • Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building
  • Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order
  • Maintain all event equipment (staging, basketball equipment, etc.)
  • Oversee opening or closing of facility for a move-in or move-out
  • Build and Maintain Tenant Relations
  • Provide support and supervision of the changeover department: event set-up and tear-down, i.e. basketball floor, stage risers, chairs, etc.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the Operations Department budget; Forecasting of future funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies
  • Assist in the purchasing of event equipment
  • Assist in the scheduling and maintenance of approval of payroll through scheduling management program
  • Provide the event manager the proper labor reports in a timely fashion
  • Ensure part-time staff are working safely and efficiently and are aware of proper safety guidelines.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and implement the work plan for facility operations
  • Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, facility management, or another related field preferred
  • Experience with facility coordination and direct employee supervision
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to multitask
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are vital
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications are required
