Your Mission:

As a Software Engineer III, you will design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems. You will integrate custom software with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, develop cloud-based and containerized applications, implement complex algorithms, and ensure software quality through rigorous testing and continuous integration practices. You will also provide technical leadership, support system integration efforts, and contribute to architecture decisions including hardware/software trade-offs and technology selection.

This position requires a current polygraph within the last 7 years.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Are:
  • Experienced in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining complex software systems
  • Skilled in Linux/Unix environments and comfortable using the Linux CLI
  • Proficient in Python (3.x) development and Bash shell scripting
  • Familiar with Rust programming concepts or eager to learn and apply them
  • Experienced with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
  • Skilled in Kubernetes and creating Helm Charts for container orchestration
  • Comfortable working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Familiar with messaging frameworks including RabbitMQ
  • Knowledgeable in CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI
  • Experienced with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible
A Day in the Life:
  • Developing Python-based services and contributing to Rust-based capabilities
  • Writing and maintaining Bash scripts for automation and system operations
  • Building and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Creating and maintaining Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments
  • Integrating software with COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools
  • Developing and optimizing data-driven or event-driven analytics systems
  • Designing and executing software test procedures and documenting results
  • Debugging software defects and modifying code to improve performance
  • Developing simple and complex queries for MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases
What we are expecting from you:
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph (within the last 7 years)
  • Nine (9) years of software engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree + seven (7) years of experience OR Master's degree + five (5) years of experience
  • Experience developing in Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience using Linux CLI and tools
  • Experience with Bash shell scripting
  • Recent experience with Python (3.x) development
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, containerd)
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence)
