Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Unix Shell Scripting Engineer with 8+ years of experience to support critical applications for a leading US-based Investment Bank. The role requires strong Unix/Linux expertise, scripting skills, and experience in production support and automation. This is a 100% onsite position in Boston, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Unix Shell (Korn Shell/Bash) scripts.
- Automate operational tasks, batch jobs, file transfers, and monitoring.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot Unix/Linux application issues.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and database teams.
- Support application deployments and production releases.
- Ensure system stability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting (Korn Shell/Bash).
- Strong knowledge of Unix commands, AWK, SED, GREP, Cron, and process management.
- Experience with SQL and Oracle or other relational databases.
- Familiarity with Git and file transfer protocols (SFTP/SCP).
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and automation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services.
- Knowledge of Control-M, Autosys, or similar scheduling tools.
- Exposure to Python, Perl, Jenkins, or Ansible is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work directly with customer teams in an onsite environment.
