Job Description:
We are seeking an Applications Support Developer to join a small IT team responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing internally developed business applications. This role is a blend of software development, application support, desktop support, and general IT responsibilities. Because the applications are proprietary, the ideal candidate is eager to learn, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance internally developed business applications built primarily with VB.NET and Visual Studio.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and resolve support requests submitted by internal users and customers.
  • Develop and modify SQL queries to support application functionality and reporting.
  • Provide Windows desktop support and assist users with hardware and software issues.
  • Create and maintain basic PowerShell scripts to automate simple tasks and file management.
  • Support data processing workflows and application integrations.
  • Work alongside senior developers to learn legacy systems and contribute to ongoing maintenance efforts.
  • Communicate directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and provide technical assistance.
  • Assist with general IT initiatives in a collaborative, small-team environment.

Qualifications:
  • Experience developing applications using VB.NET and Visual Studio.
  • Working knowledge of C# and SQL.
  • Previous experience providing Windows desktop or service desk support.
  • Exposure to PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Azure is a plus.
  • Experience working with or supporting legacy applications is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting directly with customers.
  • Ability to learn proprietary applications and adapt to a variety of technical responsibilities.
