The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Athletic Department, an NCAA DIII member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (WIAC), is seeking applicants for the position of Head Baseball Coach. This position will also serve the Athletic Department with secondary duties assigned by athletic administration. Additionally, this position is responsible for field maintenance of Kendall Murray Field.

Key Job Responsibilities:

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading, planning and administering all phases of an NCAA Division III baseball program with the utmost integrity, while developing a successful baseball program to ensure competitive success at the conference and national levels.
Duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring student-athlete well-being, academic success & graduation, recruiting and developing top student-athletes, fundraising, fiscal responsibility, scheduling, team travel, developing community support for the program, field maintenance, camp operations, and hiring/supervision of assistant coach(es). Ensure knowledge and adherence to compliance of NCAA, WIAC and UW-Platteville rules, regulations and policies.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution

  • Minimum three (3) years baseball coaching experience on the collegiate level or five (5) years on the high school varsity level

  • Organizational, written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of computer applications for recruiting software and video breakdown

  • Recruiting Pioneer Champions in Academics, Athletics, Wellness, and Life.

  • Ability to travel frequently and to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Transferable skills, educational background, expertise

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven success as a head coach or top level assistant at the collegiate level

  • Demonstrated success in recruiting talent

  • Experience in fundraising

  • Fiscal Responsibility in following budgetary guidelines

  • Fundraising, event planning and camp experience
