Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices that develop fundamental baseball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Teach proper techniques, game strategies, and rules of baseball appropriate for middle school student-athletes.
Develop season practice plans and prepare the team for interscholastic competition.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and other team-related activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes by enforcing proper training techniques and safety procedures.
Verify that all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements established by the district and school.
Promote academic achievement by monitoring student-athlete academic progress and encouraging classroom success.
Foster positive sportsmanship, respect, leadership, discipline, and ethical behavior among players.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administration, and the Athletic Director.
Maintain accurate team rosters, attendance records, equipment inventories, and required athletic documentation.
Inspect and maintain baseball equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
Distribute, collect, and properly store uniforms and athletic equipment.
Assist with preparing the baseball field before practices and games and ensure facilities are secured afterward.
Follow district policies, school procedures, conference rules, and applicable athletic association regulations.
Attend coaches' meetings, professional development sessions, and required district trainings.
Provide appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after athletic events until released to authorized individuals.
Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, transportation, equipment needs, and game-day operations.
Model professionalism, integrity, and positive behavior at all times.
Encourage parent and community involvement in support of the baseball program.
Report injuries, accidents, or disciplinary concerns promptly to the Athletic Director and school administration.
Perform other coaching-related duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and coaching principles.
Ability to motivate and develop middle school student-athletes.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and officials.
Knowledge of first aid, injury prevention, and emergency response procedures.
Ability to supervise students in a safe and structured environment.
