The Early Career Educator Support Teacher Resource position will support eligible Temporary Certificate holders in Leon County Schools through on-site mentorship. Responsibilities of the mentor include, but are not limited to, observing and providing feedback, modeling lessons, frequent check-ins with the first and second-year teachers, developing and managing course content (i.e., Canvas and District Coaching for Educator Readiness and Teaching [CERT] Program), and providing support related to collaborative planning, professional learning, and connecting the teacher with resources to support individualized professional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Create and manage course content
Provide targeted support and resources to ensure program completion
Plan and facilitate professional learning
Design and implement individualized mentoring plans for early career educators based on classroom observations, student data, and professional growth goals.
Conduct regular classroom observations with eligible temporary certificate holders and provide detailed, evidence-based feedback to improve instructional effectiveness.
Apply advanced knowledge of teaching methodologies, learning sciences, and curriculum standards to guide mentees.
Facilitate professional learning sessions, workshops, and collaborative reflection meetings for educators.
Analyze student performance data and instructional practices to recommend targeted interventions and strategies.
Exercise independent judgement in identifying educator needs, prioritizing support, and determining appropriate coaching approaches.
Collaborate with school leadership to align mentoring strategies with institutional goals and educational standards.
Maintain confidential and professional records of mentoring activities and educator progress.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
-Bachelor?s degree in education or a related field
-Minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching experience, or related roles, with Effective or Highly Effective on most recent evaluation
-In accordance with Florida Statute ยง112.219, verifiable, related work experience may be substituted for postsecondary educational requirements if the candidate is otherwise qualified for the position
License and Certification
-Valid state-issued driver?s license
-Valid Florida Professional teaching certificate
-Reading K-12 Certification or Reading Endorsement
-Completion of Clinical Education Training
