Job description

This seasonal position runs until November.

We are hiring Park Attendants for Sports Park! There are perks for joining the SPD Team!  Our  seasonal staff are eligible for a free membership to our health club, Fitness First, free golf and a free pool pass during their seasonal employment! 

 Duties:  Greets and assists Skokie Sports Park patrons in a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable manner. Responsible for monitoring park operations to ensure that the driving range tee lines, batting cages and mini-golf courses are efficiently operating to Skokie Sports Park standards of operation and safety. Monitors tee line for machine errors, customer problems and safety issues; performs minor mechanical repairs to tee line as needed. Obtains replacement/adjustment range cards for patrons when needed. Assists the Sports Park Supervisor with overseeing traffic flow and pace of play on mini-golf courses. Duties may include collecting balls in the batting cage area and distributing helmets and bats to batting cage participants. Collects helmets, disinfects them upon return and restocks. Cleans and organizes the ball room and batting cage storage area and performs light maintenance duties and sanitation of restrooms and clubhouse party room. May assist with special event and party set-up and take-down. Assists with performing preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs as needed. Actively enforces the rules and regulations of Skokie Sports Park. When accidents occur, the Park Attendant is responsible for assisting the injured patron and reporting the incident to the Sports Park Supervisor on duty. Responsibilities may include assisting with providing first aid and the preparation of accident reports. Performs other duties as assigned.


** This job fall in paygrade PT2. The target hiring range for this position is beginning at $15.00

Must be at least 16 years of age. Golf and/or baseball experience, cash register and cash handling experiences are a plus. Superior customer service skills, friendly, helpful, responsible and honest. Ability to do some heavy lifting and physical labor is needed. Must be comfortable handling crowds. Mechanical aptitude is a plus. Must be available to work weekday evenings.
