Job Overview

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our Barnegat group home supporting individuals with disabilities.

As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives while ensuring their safety and well-being during evening hours.

Responsibilities

Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting and teaching skills related to:

  • Daily living (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene)
  • Health and wellness (medication support, healthy living)
  • Community involvement (shopping, recreation, transportation)
  • Social development (communication, coping skills, friendships)
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and choice

You’ll make a meaningful difference by helping individuals build confidence, life skills, and autonomy.

Qualifications

  • Must be 20 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass:
    • State & Federal criminal background checks
    • Drug screening
    • Pre-employment physical and PPD
  • Willingness to complete all required orientation and training
