Assistant Barge Foreman Job Description:

The Assistant Foreman/Straw Boss helps the Foreman supervise and coordinate the work and personnel on a project.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and managing tasks in accordance with project priorities and goals.
  • Assist in ensuring all Safe Work Practices are utilized and enforced.
  • Assist the Foreman in working closely with the Project Team in planning, executing, and completing projects.
  • Helps to adhere to project schedules.
  • Assist in managing and guiding the use of machinery and equipment.
  • Mitigate and resolve emerging problems and issues.
  • Able to perform job in a safe and expedient manner.
  • Participate in and promote utilization of the BBI Take 5 Program.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and descent multiple flights of stairs.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
