Job description

Position Summary: Under supervision of the Restaurant Manager, courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating, ensuring hotel's standards of service. Ensure accurate and fair guest placement that benefits both the service staff and the individual guest experience. Take reservations and maintain reservation book. Assist in monitoring the guests' needs and in all phases of the operation. Assume total responsibility when Manager is not present. Maintain and support Service Commitment and Core Values.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.  The pay for this position begins at $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Team-oriented mentality.
  • Must be highly organized, responsible and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.

 

Expectations & Responsibilities:

  •  Warmly greet all guests upon arrival and offer a proper thank you upon departure
  • Responsible for taking reservations, confirming reservations and receiving to-go orders
  • Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provide accurate wait times when appropriate
  • Escort and seat guests in the dining or bar area depending on preference
  • Act as a liaison between the kitchen and dining area, and relay messages to support staff and managers as needed
  • Use visual and verbal communication with guests inside the restaurant and over the phone
  • Inform guests of current promotions and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
  • Work with serving staff to tend to guests’ needs throughout the dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service
  • Assist dining room staff by setting and clearing tables, as needed
  • All other duties, as assigned.

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. 
  • Must be able to lift minimum weight of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances – including trays and ovals.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift, while bending, stooping and reaching.
