How much do bar manager part time jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 12, 2026, the average yearly pay for bar manager part time in Oregon is $91,095.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $46,500.00 and $143,800.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the main responsibilities of a part-time bar manager?

A part-time bar manager oversees the daily operations of a bar during their shifts, including supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. They are also responsible for handling cash, resolving customer issues, and sometimes assisting with scheduling or ordering supplies. While their hours may be limited compared to full-time managers, they play a crucial role in keeping the bar running smoothly and efficiently during their assigned shifts.

Is being a part-time bar manager a stressful job?

Part-time bar managers often face stress related to managing staff, handling customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with alcohol regulations. The job can involve long or irregular hours, especially during busy nights or events, which may contribute to stress levels. Effective communication and organizational skills help manage these pressures.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part-time bar manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Bar Manager Part Time, you need experience in hospitality or food service management, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of liquor laws and responsible service, often supported by a food safety or alcohol service certification. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and scheduling tools is typically required. Outstanding leadership, customer service, and conflict resolution skills help foster a positive team environment and exceptional guest experiences. These abilities are crucial for ensuring smooth daily operations, compliance with regulations, and profitable bar performance even in limited working hours.

Is being a part-time bar manager worth it?

A part-time bar manager oversees daily operations, staff, and customer service in a bar or pub setting. The role offers flexible hours and experience in management and hospitality, but typically provides lower pay and fewer benefits compared to full-time positions.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time bar managers, and how can they be addressed?

Part-time bar managers often juggle limited hours with significant responsibilities, which can make it challenging to stay fully informed about daily operations and staff issues. Effective communication with the full-time team and regular check-ins are key to overcoming these challenges. Leveraging digital tools for scheduling, inventory tracking, and staff messaging also helps maintain continuity. Building strong relationships with both staff and patrons during your shifts ensures smoother operations and a positive work environment.

What do bar managers earn?

Bar managers typically earn an average hourly wage of $15 to $25, with annual salaries ranging from $30,000 to $60,000 depending on location, experience, and establishment size. They often oversee staff, manage inventory, and ensure customer satisfaction, which can influence their compensation.

How do part-time bar managers get paid?

Part-time bar managers are typically paid an hourly wage, which is often calculated based on the number of hours worked each week. They may also receive tips or bonuses, and payment is usually processed through direct deposit or check on a regular schedule such as weekly or biweekly. Compensation can vary depending on the establishment and location, and some roles may require managing schedules and inventory as part of their responsibilities.
