Sand Springs is a non-reformed, independent Baptist church in beautiful East Texas. We honor God’s Word and prioritize the Gospel, and He has blessed us with steady growth. Our multi-generational congregation enjoys a blended worship style—singing both hymns and praise choruses—with an emphasis on Biblical truth. We have a strong outreach culture supporting local and international missions, from church plants & food banks to care for abused women.
Position Overview
The Associate Pastor partners with the Lead Pastor to shepherd and equip our church family, with a focus on clear, Gospel-centered teaching and a vibrant, safe children’s ministry (birth through 6th grade). This full-time role combines preaching, pastoral care, administrative leadership, and the development of creative, Christ-centered programming for children and families.

Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching & Teaching
Prepare to preach and teach Gospel-centered sermons and lessons.
2. Pastoral Care & Leadership
Assist the Lead Pastor in shepherding, counseling, and discipling members
Support administrative duties and select church projects (mission trips / conferences)
3. Children’s Ministry Leadership
Oversee age-appropriate Bible lessons for infants - 6th grade on Sundays and mid-week
Cultivate a safe, loving environment where children grow in their relationship with Christ
Provide pastoral care for children and their families
4. Program & Event Development
Organize, lead & implement a lively, Bible focused children’s church service
Select and implement curriculum that fosters spiritual growth
Organize monthly family-focused activities:
Family movie nights
Game and craft nights
Mini service projects
Plan creative, annual outreach events, ie:
Fall Festival
Summer Kids Camp
Back-to-School Bash
Annual Children’s Christmas Program (casting, music, costumes, sets, promotion)
5. Safety & Check-In System
Oversee a secure digital check-in/check-out process with badge printing & matching tags
Enforce volunteer background checks and pickup protocols
6. Volunteer Management
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and youth helpers
Schedule and rotate classroom leaders quarterly
7. Family Engagement
Communicate regularly with parents via meetings and networking
8. Administrative Oversight
Manage ministry budget, ordering supplies, and scheduling
9. Staff Collaboration
Participate in strategic planning for church family ministry
