Position Summary

Responsible for all aspects of printed circuit board design including PCB Layout, Design Verification, some Library maintenance, and post processing.

This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Plymouth, MN and is a 5 day per week in-office position.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working both individually and collaborating with teammates, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and redesigning PCBs from schematics and design requirements within the Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Designer, and Design Capture software
  • Creating drawings, Gerber files, and other documentation for PCB fabrication, assembly, and internal verification
  • Collaborating with Designers, Mechanical Engineers, and Electrical Engineers to make changes in design and documentation
  • Altering drawings to meet engineering requirements and initiating engineering change orders
  • Serve as an expert in PCB Design and Engineering processes including mentoring one or more PCB Designers
  • Offer suggestions for PCB Design process improvements and author new procedures.
  • Creating Schematic Symbols, Component Geometries, and Electronic Components using Mentor Graphics Xpedition and PCB Library Expert software
  • Other tasks as assigned

What You Bring to the Table

Required

  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in Electronics or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience with a PCB design software package (Mentor Graphics Xpedition schematic and PCB Design software Release VX.2.0 and later preferred)
  • Familiar with IPC specifications and terminology as it relates to printed circuit board manufacturing
  • Background with rigid, rigid flex, and flexible PCB designs utilizing multilayer and HDI technologies
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with multiple groups

Preferred

  • Experience in setting up and modifying constraints in PCB Layout
  • High speed PCB design experience
  • Expert with Mentor Graphics suite of PCB tools
