The Business Banking Relationship Manager will manage and grow relationships with small-to-medium-sized businesses with up to $10 million in annual revenues, delivering customized financial solutions with total credit exposure of up to $3 million. This position plays a key role in driving business growth by providing expert financial advice and full-service business banking to include lending, deposit, and non-credit products to support the financial goals of business clients. The incumbent is responsible for end-to-end relationship management, from sourcing and analyzing client opportunities to structuring loans and monitoring portfolio performance, while actively collaborating with internal and external partners to enhance client value. This role is sales driven and requires a proven history of developing new businesses and managing relationships. Ideal candidates are experienced in community banking, networking, building relationships, and providing excellent customer service, and possess extensive experience with small businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities through self-generated referrals and an established network of CPAs, attorneys, business brokers, and commercial real estate professionals.
  • Conduct client and prospect meetings to assess their financial needs, challenges, and opportunities, tailoring banking solutions to meet their goals.
  • Prospect new business relationships and cross-sell Bank solutions and services.
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including review of financial statements, credit reports, and cash flow projections, to determine creditworthiness.
  • Develop and recommend loan structures, repayment schedules, and collateral requirements in alignment with client needs and the bank's credit policies.
  • Negotiate loan terms, ensuring a mutually beneficial agreement while adhering to regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Manage an active loan portfolio, ensuring compliance with loan terms, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify risks, monitor payment trends, and address early warning signs of potential issues.
  • Collaborate with credit and portfolio management teams to ensure timely renewal of loans and updates to client profiles.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager, deepening client relationships through consistent engagement and cross-selling of banking solutions, including cash management, personal banking, and wealth management solutions.
  • Function as the "gatekeeper" for the bank, ensuring clients are aware of and benefit from the full range of banking solutions and services.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, proactively addressing client concerns and identifying opportunities to enhance their banking experience.
  • Partner with internal teams, including credit administration, operations, portfolio managers, and product specialists, to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.
  • Mentor and coach junior relationship managers, sharing expertise in financial analysis, sales strategies, and client relationship building.
  • Assists in training and mentoring new and less experienced small business relationship managers on lending procedures, policies, and regulations, and recommends improvements to procedures and provides functional guidance as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance preferred, or equivalent experience demonstrated through a combination of the following: work and military experience, and education/training.
  • Experienced Relationship Manager with at least 5 years of new business development experience and direct sourcing and prospecting new clients.
  • Minimum 5 years of business banking lending experience in the financial services industry.
  • Proven experience building and servicing relationships within the Northern Delaware market is required.
  • Must have credit experience, loan structuring, and financial statement analysis.
  • Must have strong knowledge of business lending, consumer lending, and deposit products.
  • Must have proficiency with analyzing applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine ability and capacity to repay and service debt.
  • Prior experience utilizing a Salesforce nCino system to manage and monitor the sales pipeline with a focus on converting prospect relationships is preferred.
  • Basic Knowledge of all applicable Regulations that pertain to this position is required.
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, and related programs.

Salary Range:

$92,869.00 - $152,569.00

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate's experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.

In addition to base salary, WSFS Financial Corporation (WSFS) and its subsidiaries may offer eligible Associates discretionary and formula-based incentive and retention awards. WSFS provides a competitive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan; life, accident, and disability insurance; flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs); and wellness programs.
