You'll step into a visible role supporting high-volume payment operations, process efficiency, and team execution.
About the Company
Our client is a large, established organization within the Financial Services industry. The company operates in a complex, high-volume environment with broad internal teams and a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and operational excellence.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys structure, pace, and cross-functional partnership. The organization offers exposure to large-scale processes, collaborative teams, and meaningful operational impact.
About the Payment Operations Lead Role
The Payment Operations Lead will help oversee day-to-day U.S. payment operations, including accounts payable invoices, reimbursements, and cash management activities. This role will support workflow execution, payment accuracy, issue resolution, and team coordination within a high-volume environment.
The Payment Operations Lead will also provide guidance to onshore and offshore team members, helping with workload distribution, training, and review of work. This position partners closely with Accounting, Treasury, Banking Operations, and regional teams to support timely and compliant payment processing.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who understands AP, payments, cash management, and deadlines, and who can keep operations moving smoothly during busy periods.

  • Supervise workflow execution to ensure payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Support and develop onshore and offshore team members through training, coaching, workload distribution, and work review.
  • Monitor workflow queues, service levels, and processing metrics to identify issues and keep work moving.
  • Serve as an escalation point for payment issues, exceptions, failed transactions, and process questions.
  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Banking Operations, and regional teams to support accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Help drive process improvements in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Support peak processing periods, including quarter-end and year-end activity.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of accounting, accounts payable, payment operations, or shared services experience.
  • Prior supervisory, team lead, or people management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, payment processing, cash management, and related controls.
  • Familiarity with compliance and reporting areas such as 1099s, Sales & Use Tax, and FATCA.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with high-volume data and deadlines.
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and escalation-management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, treasury, banking, and operations teams.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Opportunity to step into a visible leadership role within a large Financial Services organization.
  • Strong mix of hands-on payment operations, team oversight, and process improvement.
  • Exposure to high-volume AP, cash management, workflow metrics, and operational controls.
  • Opportunity to partner with Accounting, Treasury, Banking Operations, and regional teams.
  • Great fit for someone with AP Supervisor, AP Manager, Payment Operations Lead, or Shared Services Supervisor experience.
  • Strong environment for someone who thrives under deadlines and enjoys improving processes.
