SCOPE:

This position is responsible for serving as part of the Bank's second line of defense, responsible for executing compliance monitoring and testing within the Compliance Management System (CMS). This position will provide value by focusing on depository compliance risk and assisting with lending compliance. They will be a compliance expert who will work with other teams to develop products and services, answer compliance questions, conduct regulatory compliance monitoring, provide requested information for external reviews and exams. Execute compliance reviews, and support internal business partners to ensure adherence to applicable laws, policies and procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Compliance

  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and new regulations. Disseminate information regarding compliance to appropriate staff. Ensure effective implementation of regulatory changes.
  • Provide guidance to bank staff on compliance issues and inquiries. Participate in ongoing training and conduct training as needed.
  • Conduct thorough and timely compliance reviews according to the internal review schedule. Prepare and submit reports to management. Document the root cause for the errors noted, track and evaluate remediation of identified issues and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify gaps.
  • Monitor and evaluate compliance risk indicators. Maintain accurate documentation for all monitoring activities.
  • Support and coordinate with preparation for audits and exams and serve as a point of contact for auditors and examiners as needed.

  • Perform additional compliance-related responsibilities as assigned
  • As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in support of other bank operations.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in a related field; and one to three years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CRCM or willingness to pursue certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic office skills, including computer use, communication, and standard office equipment.
