ANALYST

Olsen Palmer LLC is selectively seeking an Analyst for our Washington, D.C. office. The candidate will work directly with and for the firm’s senior partners across and throughout current and prospective client engagements.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience in bank & thrift M&A or comparable appreciable experience in investment banking, commercial banking, management consulting, or accounting. The candidate must be conscientious, mature, and poised, as they will immediately become a critical member of the deal team, interacting directly with clients. The candidate should also possess exceptional quantitative abilities, advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word, strong oral and written communication skills, refined organizational and time management capabilities, and an ability to succeed in a small-team setting.

Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Preparing financial and valuation analyses
  • Manipulating pro forma merger models
  • Creating client presentations and pitch/marketing materials
  • Drafting offering memorandums for M&A transactions
  • Supporting client relationships, attending client meetings, and interacting directly with clients at relevant stages of live engagements
  • Researching deal-specific and/or business development matters including market, economic, and demographic data; company information; and competitive analysis
  • Training and mentoring analysts and interns
  • Interest in ascending to a senior banker position at an accelerated pace over time and willingness to develop proficiencies in the skill sets required to make such a transition

Targeted credentials include:

  • 0-2+ years experience exclusively or predominantly in investment banking, particularly in financial institutions M&A, or comparable in-house corporate buy-side M&A experience
  • Fluency with financial institutions / depository financial statements
  • Proficient with S&P Global
  • Strong undergraduate academic credentials from a top tier school with a preferred major in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Motivated, conscientious, creative, mature, and poised
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Team player
  • SIE Exam and Series 79 and 63 certifications strongly preferred
