About Central Texas Food Bank

The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in Central Texas and a proud member of the Feeding America network. From its headquarters in Austin and its distribution hub in Waco, CTFB serves a 21-county region on a mission to increase food access by providing nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts, and transforming lives through programs, education, and innovative solutions. Through a combination of direct service programs and a network of approximately 250 nonprofit community partners, CTFB supports over 612,000 food-insecure individuals annually. Position Overview

The Food Pantry Manager will be is responsible for leading the development, growth, and success of the on-site client choice pantry and lead the efforts behind our CTFB direct service pantries embedded in the community across our 21 county service area. This includes, but not limited to, being present at the appropriate location to oversee daily operations, engage with visiting community members, evaluate hours of operation, and ensure communication efforts to the overall community regarding this effort. This position represents a critical step for the Food Bank in properly addressing food access and health among food insecure clients, helping those clients to live healthier, more stable and self-sustaining lives. The ideal candidate must possess successful experience in strategy and operational implementation of hunger fighting and health-focused programming.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Pantry Operations: Oversee CTFB client-choice pantry operations and direct service programs, ensuring effective service delivery, appropriate inventory, sanitation, documentation, and compliance with program requirements. In addition, ensure programs provide a welcoming, trauma-informed, strengths-based experience that supports client dignity and healthy food choices.

Community Partnerships & Program Expansion: Develop and maintain strategic community partnerships to expand CTFB direct service programs based on identified needs and service-area priorities. Lead partner outreach, onboarding, training, and ongoing support while serving as the primary liaison to ensure consistent, compliant program delivery.

Program Performance & Data: Establish and monitor program performance measures, using client, partner, and operational data to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, forecast needs, and guide program improvements. Additionally, manage accurate data collection, reporting, partner documentation, and feedback processes, including surveys and program evaluations.

Grants & Financial Management: Oversee grant administration, compliance, performance metrics, and reporting requirements while identifying funding opportunities that support program goals. Develop and manage the annual program budget and ensure responsible use of financial and program resources.

Community & Organizational Representation: Represent CTFB professionally at community events, pantry sites, mobile distributions, and other community activities while modeling the organization's values through collaborative, solutions-focused communication. In addition, performs additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational and community needs.

Team Leadership & Performance: Build a high-performing, collaborative team culture focused on accountability, continuous learning, and achievement of organizational goals. In addition, set clear performance expectations, regularly evaluate results, and coach and develop team members to strengthen technical, professional, and leadership capabilities.

Relationships
Building and maintaining collaborative and meaningful relationships is a core component of this position. Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness this position is within the Client Services department but will need to nurture strong connections with colleagues on various teams, especially with Empowerment Programs, Network Services, Logistics, and Production departments to ensure effective client programming and efficient flow of food. Proven and demonstrated professionalism and effective communication skills to achieve goals are necessary for this role.
