We are looking for a proactive and collaborative team member who will support our mission and contribute meaningfully to this role.
The Academy Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality training and development experiences for participants enrolled in the Babilou Family Academy. Working closely with the Academy Director, this role facilitates the majority of Academy coursework, supports participant learning and engagement, evaluates skill development, and helps ensure participants are prepared for successful placement in schools. The Academy Trainer serves as a key resource and mentor throughout the participant journey while reinforcing company culture, educational quality standards, safety practices, and professional expectations.
Our work is guided by our educational approach, Sustainable Education®, which bridges research and daily practice to help children thrive and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. We're in what we like to call the science of children. Everything we do is rooted in research about how young minds grow-how they learn, connect, and build the skills that last a lifetime. We also lead our HONOR values: Humility, Open-Mindedness, Nurture, Ownership, and Recognition. This guiding framework fosters an environment where educators, children, families, and partners feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Academy training sessions; facilitate classroom instruction, discussions, activities and practical learning experiences; prepare training materials; support guest facilitators; create an engaging learning environment.

  • Monitor participant progress, attendance and engagement; conduct assessments and observations; provide coaching and feedback; partner with the Academy Director regarding participant readiness and completion recommendations.

  • Build positive participant relationships; support onboarding and orientation activities; foster professionalism, accountability and continuous learning; celebrate participant achievements.

  • Support scheduling, logistics, classroom preparation, school observations and field training; maintain training records and completion tracking.

  • Partner with the Academy Director to improve curriculum, training materials, assessments and learning activities; provide feedback on training effectiveness.

  • Support school-based experiences and gather participant and leader feedback regarding readiness and Academy effectiveness.

Required & Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in training/learning and development, education or related fields.

  • Experience working in an early childhood education center strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in delivering training programs.

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, public speaking, and verbal and written communication skills.

  • Passion for employee development and workforce readiness.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with learning management systems a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.

  • Travel to other local schools and Home Office to facilitate trainings/observations, participate in meetings, or perform other Academy-related tasks as needed.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with annual discretionary employer match contribution.

  • Optional life insurance and short/long-term disability coverage, helping provide financial protection and peace of mind.

  • Performance-based pay, including increases tied to certification and/or degree completion.

  • Career growth and professional development opportunities, including training, mentorship, and our dedicated CHILD Conference.

  • Generous paid time off and holiday benefits, including an annual Winter Break closure between Christmas and New Year's so employees can enjoy additional time with family and friends.
