About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery - Packing to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator 2, you will support and coordinate daily packaging and retail bagging operations, ensuring production schedules, food safety, quality standards, and documentation requirements are consistently met while contributing to continuous improvement.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 1st
  • Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Weekend Availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $21

 

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

  • Coordinate and support daily bakery packaging and retail bagging line operations to meet production schedules
  • Provide routine work direction and operational support to packaging and bagging team members
  • Monitor equipment performance, product flow, and material availability to ensure efficient line operation
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, quality, sanitation, and security requirements
  • Perform and verify required quality checks, including metal detector testing, temperature monitoring, and labeling accuracy
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely production, quality, and packaging documentation and system entries
  • Participate in training, continuous improvement initiatives, and problemsolving activities to reduce waste and variation

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, SOPs, safety rules, and operating instructions
  • Ability to complete routine written and electronic reports accurately
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn company systems such as MOVEX/SAP
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50-100 lbs. with team assistance

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in food manufacturing or bakery packaging operations
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems
  • Forklift certification
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and daily management systems
  • Strong problemsolving and team leadership skills
