A&J King is looking for a part-time DELIVERY PACKER/DRIVER to join the team! We are an award winning artisan-style bakery specializing in hearth baked breads such as sourdoughs, baguettes, ciabatta, and whole wheat as well as hand rolled croissants, muffins, scones, cookies, tarts and seasonal desserts. All of our products are made fresh daily from scratch ingredients. We source locally and regionally whenever possible. We also offer espresso and sandwiches in our caf and run a small wholesale program providing breads and pastries to area restaurants and shops. Winner of Best of Boston in 2009 and 2012 as well as Best of North Shore every year since 2008.
Position Description:
- A&J King is looking for a DELIVERY PACKER/DRIVER to join the team! Position Description:
- We're looking for 3-4 days per week, Friday - Monday. Weekend availability is a must!
- Shifts start in the early morning (1:30/2am ) so arriving on time is very important.
- Your shift could end around between 7:30 am-9am depending on daily load/season/traffic. Shifts are generally around 6-7 hours depending on the day.
- Some days will require a faster pace than others.
- You will be on your feet bending/reaching up and down from 2am to roughly 5am.
- The remainder of your shift will be in spent delivering orders in one of our vans.
Shift Duties:
- Be on site, clocked in, and ready to start working at 1am - 2am.
- Packing bread and pastries with care so not to damage product.
- Loading delivery vans with product in an easily accessible manner.
- Driving for roughly 5 hours around the North Shore and Boston.
- Being courteous while operating bakery vehicles.
- Attention to detail when using packing slips to pack orders properly.
Applicant must:
-Have prior driving experience with a cargo van - no CDL necessary.
-Have a reliable phone with working GPS function (vans have included WIFI hot spot)
-Be willing/able to learn about our products for identification.
-Be a team player.
-Be organized and able to multi-task.
-Be able to lift up to 45lbs fairly consistently.
-Be able to present his/her clean driving record - you can get this online from the RMV.
-Be authorized to work in the US.
COMPENSATION: All employees are paid a base wage (no less than minimum wage) and and additional bonus per paycheck which varies depending on how busy the bakery is. Right now, that bonus adds an additional $3.50+ per hour to each employee's paycheck. So, for example, employees making $18 per hour are taking home around $21+ per hour.
