Job description

OBJECTIVE / ACCOUNTABILITY

Produce consistent, high-quality products within the Mix Plant while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and company standards. This role involves safely operating equipment, following established procedures, and supporting overall production operations. Team members are expected to collaborate across functions and assist in other areas as needed to meet customer needs and operational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Production Support

  • Operate and support the Mix Plant production line and related equipment.
  • Operate bagging equipment and assist with bagging operations as required.
  • Load trucks with various products and quantities according to production and shipping requirements.
  • Feed raw materials into the mix line and bagging equipment.
  • Assist with production activities as directed by the Mix Plant Crew Leader.
  • Support product quality standards by following established procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with housekeeping and facility maintenance activities throughout the production area.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate equipment in accordance with company policies, safety programs, and internal operator permit requirements.
  • Perform general equipment maintenance including:
    • Daily fluid level checks
    • Daily walk-around and safety inspections
    • Daily and periodic greasing
    • Lubricant changes at specified intervals
    • Tire pressure checks
  • Fuel equipment daily as needed.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and proper working condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the Crew Leader.

Safety & Compliance

  • Attend and actively participate in all required safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor work areas for potential hazards and take appropriate corrective action when possible.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to all product quality standards and operating procedures.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Receive work assignments and direction from the Mix Plant Crew Leader and, when necessary, the Mix Plant Manager or Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Communicate production, quality, safety, or equipment concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and assist in other operational areas as needed to support production goals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish; bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and operate a variety of production equipment.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCES

  • Previous experience operating forklifts, skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience operating industrial or construction equipment preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with the ability and willingness to learn may be considered for a training position.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts and skid steers.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment inspection and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and product quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working in varying weather conditions.
