Job description

The Safety & Health Technician supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company's safety and health programs across company's surface mining operations, processing facilities, bagging plant and support facilities. This role works directly in the field with miners, supervisors, and management to promote safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen a positive, proactive safety culture.
The Safety & Health Technician serves as a visible safety presence, conducting inspections, observations, training support, and incident investigations while acting as a coach and resource for miners and leadership alike.
Beneficial skills:
  • High school diploma or GED, associate's degree or Higher in a related field, Degree may be substituted for experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in surface mining or heavy industry.
  • Working knowledge of surface mining operations, mobile equipment and processing plants.
  • Ability to interpret and apply MSHA regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between mine sites.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach and influence safe behavior.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
