This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Backend Software Engineer based in Netherlands.

This role sits at the core of a modern cloud-native platform used by thousands of developers worldwide to build and deploy scalable applications. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining the backend systems that power critical infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability at every level. The work spans distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and database optimization in a fast-moving engineering environment. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers and DevOps teams to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality. The role offers significant ownership over system design decisions and the opportunity to directly influence platform architecture. Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting a high-availability cloud platform
  • Develop and evolve microservices architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
  • Optimize database structures and queries to improve system efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure system resilience, high availability, and robust error handling across distributed environments
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features

Requirements
