Job description

Chick-fil-A Oregon (OH) – Back of House Manager

Wage Range $20-24 per hour

The Back of House Manager leads kitchen operations, food safety, food quality, and team development. This role combines hands-on leadership with operational oversight to deliver fresh, accurate, and timely food.

The Back of House Manager oversees food preparation, breading, cooking, assembly, cleanliness, and product flow. This leader coaches Team Members and Shift Leaders in real time to maintain a safe, organized kitchen and consistent execution.

Role

The Back of House Manager provides hands-on leadership across all BOH stations, develops Shift Leaders and Team Members, and partners with restaurant leaders to achieve food safety, quality, people, and performance goals.

Availability & Role Requirements

  • Minimum Full-Time Availability: 32+ hours a week
  • Be available to lead at least 2 closing shifts per week (start at 4pm), with one of those closes being either Friday or Saturday
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to become ServSafe certified

Pay Rate

  • $20–$24 per hour

Exact rate depends on availability and experience.

Reports to: Director and Operator.

What you will be doing

  • Own and improve BOH systems and strategy across all stations and dayparts
  • Order product delivery for the restaurant
  • Maintain awareness of BOH staffing for all days and dayparts
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop Shift Leaders and Team Members, including semiannual performance reviews
  • Maintain scorecards for direct reports and leads monthly BOH Shift Leader meetings
  • Troubleshoot issues with kitchen equipment, technology, and BOH systems/processes
  • Partner with leadership on food safety, inventory, waste control, and performance goals
  • Ensure food safety, quality, preparation, holding, sanitation, and product rotation standards
  • Work alongside the kitchen team during peak periods
  • All other tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required; restaurant or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, inventory control, waste reduction, and kitchen equipment care.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to delegate and follow through.
  • Strong alignment with Chick-fil-A Oregon values.
