Job description

Auria is looking to hire a skilled, results-oriented Full Stack Web Developer to support the adaptation of Auria’s Battlespace Operational Readiness Game (BORG Space®) to the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) for the USSF Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM). The OTTI seeks to establish live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training environments that enable Guardians to test, train, and develop tactics in an operationally relevant scheme to achieve and sustain full spectrum readiness. This role is HYBRID in Colorado Springs, CO.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Contribute to Advancing Operational Readiness Applications: Design, develop, and deliver frontend and backend (web API) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) capabilities on an Agile Scrum software dev team with hybrid flexibility.
  • Collaborate With Stakeholders: Join the team in design sessions and software demonstrations with industry partners and customers.
  • Influence Architectural Decisions: Actively participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions, influencing direction and ensuring the implementation of long-lasting solutions leveraging the latest industry standards and conventions.
  • Stay at the Forefront of Technology: Continuously explore emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in web development, applying that knowledge to drive innovation and continuously improve development processes.
  • Apply skills, ingenuity, and energy in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies including reviews, demos, amp; planning; backlog grooming, story estimation and team retros also included.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a full-stack (frontend and backend) web developer – having made significant contribution to a published JavaScript and/or ASP.NET web capability.
  • 3 or more years of recent experience in at least one of:
    • Developing React web frontends, especially using Material UI (MUI) and User-Centered Design (UCD) principles
    • Developing REST web API backends in ASP.NET
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a CI/CD or DevSecOps environment using Docker, Git, and GitLab pipelines.
  • Proficient in using the Ubuntu Linux Bash shell to navigate and troubleshoot container issues.
  • Has a strong understanding of software development methodologies, design patterns, and best practices – especially those involving web and DevOps.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Is self-guided/driven while working alone or in a team environment.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or eligibility and willingness to obtain).
  • Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Experience creating and running MongoDB queries, especially in C#
  • Experience using Cypress to develop UI component and end-to-end integration (API) tests
  • Experience with WebSockets to facilitate bidirectional communication
  • Experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to manage EC2 web servers.
  • Proficient in graphics arts using Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphic design tools.
