Back End Manager information

What does a back end manager do?

A Back End Manager oversees the development, maintenance, and performance of server-side applications and databases that power websites or software systems. They manage teams of back-end developers, ensure efficient data storage and retrieval, and implement security best practices. Their responsibilities also include optimizing server infrastructure, collaborating with front-end teams, and ensuring systems are scalable and reliable. Back End Managers typically have expertise in programming languages like Java, Python, or Node.js, and experience with databases and API design.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a back end manager?

To thrive as a Back End Manager, you need expertise in server-side programming, database management, software architecture, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with frameworks like Node.js or Django, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and knowledge of CI/CD tools are often required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and effective communication skills help manage teams and align technical efforts with business goals. These competencies are crucial for ensuring reliable system performance, team productivity, and successful project delivery.

What are some common challenges back end managers face when coordinating with front-end teams?

Back End Managers often encounter challenges in ensuring seamless communication and alignment with front-end teams, especially when integrating new features or resolving system bugs. Differences in technical terminology, timelines, and priorities can sometimes lead to misunderstandings or delays. To address these challenges, successful Back End Managers foster regular cross-team meetings, maintain clear documentation, and encourage collaborative planning sessions. This proactive approach helps streamline development cycles and ensures both teams are working towards shared goals.

Job description

Whoย we'reย looking forย

A well-connected, relationship-driven professional - coaches, teachers, athletic directors, or community leaders - whoย thrivesย on opening doors and closing deals. If you love the front end of sales and have a strong local network, this roleย wasย built for you. Got a day job, a coaching gig, or a packed schedule? No problem. This is designed to work around your life.ย

This is not a remote position. Applicants must currentlyย resideย within the assigned territory to be considered.ย

The opportunityย

You'llย beย bootsย on the ground, building partnerships with schools, sports teams, programs, and community organizations in your area - on your schedule. Your focus is to prospect, connect, and close - then hand off to an Account Manager who handles everything after. No backend admin, no long-term account management. Just pure relationship-driven sales with peopleย you likelyย already know. Perfect as a side hustle, a part-time gig, or a way to monetize the networkย you'veย already built.ย

Whatย you'llย doย

  • Tap into your existing local network toidentifyand engage potential partnersย
  • Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and demos - when it works for you
  • Close new partnerships and hand off seamlessly to your Account Manager

What you bringย

  • Current residency within the assigned territory (required- non-local applicants will not be considered)
  • Strong local community ties and existing relationships
  • Self-starter mentality with solid communication skills
  • Comfort in a 100% commission, performance-driven environment
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check, including driving record

Whatย you'llย earnย

  • Uncapped commission - no ceiling on your earnings, no matter how many hours you put in

The detailsย

  • Flexible contract (1099) - make your own schedule; designed to work as a side hustle or part-time gig
  • One-quarterinitialcommitment with opportunity to extendย
  • No base salary, benefits, or paid leave
