As Project Manager, you will oversee environmental projects at the client and contract level in Anchorage, AK. You will develop cost estimates, coordinate bidding, and ensure project requirements are met while managing resources, schedules, quality, safety, and client relationships.

• Manage projects at the client and contract level under the guidance of Senior Project Managers and Program Managers.
• Develop and define criteria for project deliverables, monitor critical milestones, and perform cost estimating and value engineering.
• Ensure projects remain aligned to goals and deliver planned benefits.
• Oversee daily management of field projects, coordinating work by field staff and subcontractors.
• Manage logistics, cost, schedule, quality control, and customer satisfaction for field projects.
• Identify, analyze, and prepare for project risks; ensure compliance with quality, safety, and security processes.
• Attend site visits to determine scope and accuracy of contract documents; may require multi‑day or overnight stays.
• Review project plans, specifications, general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics, and labor requirements.
• Decide whether to self‑perform or subcontract work; prepare subcontractor instructions and solicit bid information.
• Solicit vendor quotes, analyze them, and incorporate findings into project estimates.
• Prepare comprehensive project estimates, ensuring all factors are considered, scheduled, priced, and included.
• Review estimates prepared by others for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
• Assist in developing project budgets and estimating to complete.
• Oversee records management of project cost history.
• Assist in pricing change orders or additional work.
• Maintain flow of project information, documenting all activities.
• Maintain and communicate data on material cost trends affecting project costs.
• Communicate with clients, customers, and regulatory agencies through meetings, monthly reports, site visits, document reviews, resolution discussions, and invoicing.
• Build effective relationships with customers, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups.
• Lead a proactive safety culture and perform other duties as directed.
• Support environmental investigations and assessments in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
• Work with technical staff to support project objectives and field operations.
• Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, and coordination for written project documentation.
• Evaluate and select data collection methods and procedures for site surveys and investigations.
• Act as lead author of technical and QC reviews of project documents.
• Serve as technical liaison for clients and customers.
• Supervise junior staff: manage workflow, create schedules, delegate tasks, assess performance, and train new hires.
• Set employee goals, ensuring compliance with the company’s plans and vision, and report performance records to HR and senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, physical or environmental science, or environmental engineering.
• Seven to fifteen years of experience on environmental projects.
• Broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Ability to travel 15‑25% of the time for meetings, site visits, and occasional fieldwork.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle under the company’s driving policy.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Detailed knowledge of RCRA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and related laws and regulations.
• Understanding of environmental science and technology and use of scientific methods to solve problems.
• Analytical skills, data gathering, report preparation, and contract document interpretation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong self‑motivation, organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.

• Professional licensure.
• Experience in federal government projects.
• Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with a current 8‑hour refresher.
