SUMMARY
North Highland is seeking to hire a Director, Enterprise Architect Consultant. This leader will drive system modernization programs, enterprise architecture initiatives, enterprise testing and release management, and complex technology implementations for clients across multiple industries, covering public and private sectors.
The ideal candidate is a proven consulting leader with deep expertise in Health and Human Services/MES application modernization, digital transformation, technology strategy, and a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering measurable client value.
CANDIDATES CAN BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN THE US;
YOU WILL:
  • Develop and execute enterprise architecture strategies that align business and IT objectives, including current/future state architecture, migration roadmaps, and integration of emerging technologies (cloud, AI, microservices).
  • Advise clients on digital transformation, legacy system migration, and application modernization, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Lead large-scale technology implementation and modernization programs for clients in public sector, medicaid enterprise systems, financial services, healthcare, and commercial industries.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams (including architects, application and data engineers, project managers, business analysts, testers) to deliver complex programs on time and within budget.
  • Engage with C-level executives and senior stakeholders to shape technology vision, drive strategic planning, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor and develop consulting talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, leading proposals, and supporting go-to-market initiatives.
  • Represent North Highland as a thought leader through industry presentations, publications, and client workshops.

IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in technology consulting, with a focus on enterprise architecture, system modernization, enterprise testing and technology implementation, preferably in an MES/Medicaid or Health and Human Services environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in consulting environments, including experience as a Director, Managing Director, or equivalent and requires strong familiarity with government programs (e.g., Medicaid, MMIS, Health Information Exchanges) and regulatory initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in public sector and private sector areas; experience in multiple industries.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex technology programs, including legacy application modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), application lifecycle management, and modern technology stacks (cloud, microservices, AI, data platforms).
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Experience with both organic growth and acquisition-driven integration in consulting or technology services.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise at the executive level.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and thought leadership abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, SAFe, PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with business process reengineering, business rule extraction, and operational transformation.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data analytics, and generative AI solution delivery.
