Tenure Track, Visiting, Instructor, and Professor of Practice Appointments

PURPOSE

The School of Business at Lincoln University of Missouri invites applications for full-time faculty positions in Business Administration and related business disciplines beginning Fall 2026.

Appointments may include tenure-track, non-tenure-track, visiting professor, instructor, professor of practice, executive-in-residence, or other faculty classifications depending on candidate qualifications, professional experience, institutional needs, and available funding.

Successful candidates may teach undergraduate and graduate business courses in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities. These are full-time, 9-month appointments with opportunities for summer teaching and overload assignments. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

The School of Business seeks dynamic educators, scholars, and experienced professionals who are committed to student success, applied business education, workforce development, innovation, and continuous improvement in accordance with university policies, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards, and Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) expectations.

The School particularly welcomes applications from experienced professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, retired industry leaders, military leaders, public sector professionals, and former academic faculty who possess a terminal degree and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Teach business-related coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels in classroom, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi and instructional materials aligned with university standards and accreditation expectations.
  • Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems effectively.
  • Participate in curriculum development, assessment activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist students through academic advising, mentoring, and professional development support.
  • Participate in university, school, and program meetings and committees as appropriate to appointment classification.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts.
  • Contribute to ACBSP accreditation reporting and assurance of learning activities.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, professional engagement, applied research, industry collaboration, or other professional contributions appropriate to appointment type and faculty classification.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in School of Business events, outreach activities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain professional development consistent with disciplinary expectations and institutional needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A terminal degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related business discipline from an accredited institution is required.
  • ABD candidates with a documented completion date may be considered for certain appointment classifications.
  • Teaching experience at a college or university is preferred. Industry leaders with backgrounds in training and development will also be considered.
  • Significant professional, executive, entrepreneurial, governmental, military, nonprofit, or industry experience is highly valued.
  • Experience teaching in online or hybrid modalities is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Light sedentary office work.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
