Job Summary:
Jewelers Mutual Group is seeking a Senior BI Developer responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise BI capabilities. This role involves leading cross-functional initiatives to deliver strategic data products and analytical pipelines while mentoring other BI developers to enhance organizational data maturity.
Responsibilities:
• Design, architect, build and maintain scalable business intelligence solutions across the enterprise
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Test Engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery of end-to-end solutions
• Translate complex business needs into enterprise level technical designs, data models, and BI solutions.
• Partner with the data engineer and data platform teams to support the design, build and maintenance of analytical pipelines
• Lead and mentor other BI developers to implement best practices, dashboard design standards and data visualization strategies
• Conduct POCs and recommend adoption of emerging BI technologies
• Build and deliver rich and efficient dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and cloud based data platforms
• Collaborate with other BI developer to define reporting standards and best practices
• Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues, ensuring stability and performance across BI solutions.
• Promote data literacy and BI tool adoption by coaching business partners and power users.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, processes, and governance standards.
• Act as a thought leader in BI strategy—evaluating and proposing enhancements to tools, processes, and architectures.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level BI developers.
• Provide technical guidance and peer review on BI development and design.
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment of BI strategy with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive experience developing BI solutions, dashboards, and reports
• 4+ years of experience with data warehousing, relational database development, and advanced SQL
• 4+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, etc.)
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Power BI (including DAX, data modeling, and Power BI Service administration)
• Strong knowledge of BI governance, data modeling best practices, and enterprise analytics delivery
• Experience leading or mentoring BI developers in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize work, and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable solutions
Preferred:
• Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Certifications
• Additional cloud data platform certifications (Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP)
