Job description

Role Overview:
The Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Architect will lead the design, implementation, optimization, and escalation support for enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery platforms. This role is crucial for modernizing end-user computing services, including Azure Virtual Desktop deployments, Windows 365 solutions, Citrix replacement initiatives, Intune policy management, application packaging, and supporting critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments across development, test, pre-production, production, high availability, and disaster recovery environments.
  • Develop enterprise architecture, solution design, deployment standards, and operational support documentation.
  • Design scalable, secure, and resilient virtual desktop and published application environments.
  • Lead production readiness reviews, disaster recovery (DR) planning, and DR testing activities.
  • Optimize AVD host pools, scaling plans, FSLogix profiles, image management, and performance monitoring.
  • Create infrastructure standards and reference architectures for enterprise AVD deployments.
  • Troubleshoot complex AVD infrastructure, performance, authentication, connectivity, and user experience issues.
  • Implement four development and test instances, along with pre-production, gold, production, high-availability, and disaster recovery environments to support go-live readiness for commercial transformation projects.

Required Skills:
  • Deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Experience with Windows 365 solutions.
  • Proficiency in Intune policy management.
  • Skills in application packaging.
  • Knowledge of enterprise virtual desktop and application delivery platforms.
  • Familiarity with Citrix replacement initiatives.
  • Experience with FSLogix profiles, image management, and performance monitoring.
  • Ability to lead DR planning and testing activities.
