What you'll do
The Fullstack Software Engineer will own all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of product features in Docusign software products. The mix is 70% backend 30% frontend, subject to change.
We are on a mission to build highly available, performant and high quality solutions to serve document manipulation needs for Docusign customers. We primarily use the Microsoft technology stack. You will work on windows services, microservices, MVC and legacy software written in Dotnet framework and front ends written in Javascript/Typescript. You enjoy fast-paced entrepreneurial environments where you can solve difficult problems using current technologies and tools. You collaborate well with other team members when brainstorming, designing, and implementing new solutions. You will also help the team succeed by thinking about ways to improve processes, suggesting ways to make the team more effective, and mentoring and modeling engineering best practices.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager.
Responsibility
  • Be the coding champion in the team, set high standards for yourself and the team
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs using C# and .NET technologies, hosted on Microsoft Azure and on-prem data center
  • Design, develop, and maintain well crafted, responsive and modular UI, using React, Typescript and some Javascript
  • Troubleshoot challenging front end issues in older javascript/angular applications
  • Develop new feature encompassing frontend, backend, database and infrastructure code
  • Leverage Azure services like Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Blob Storage, and SQL/No-SQL Databases to build scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-native solutions
  • Build and maintain microservices-based architectures using C#, ASP.NET, and other Azure technologies
  • Address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges proactively
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team, proactively getting alignment on designs and communicating roadblocks
  • Guide and mentor other engineers through design and code reviews
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring
Basic
  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar field of study
  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering, using OOP languages and design patterns (e.g., C#, Java, C++), some of which preferably in C#
  • 1+ year of experience in front end development
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with building and operating cloud-native microservices and APIs at scale
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, SQL Server) and NoSQL solutions (e.g., Cosmos DB)
  • Experience with service reliability and incident response standard methodologies

Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack (e.g., C#, .NET, ASP.NET)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Transitioning user interfaces from MVC/angular/javascript to single page applications
  • Experience building windows services that perform document manipulations
  • Experience with Enterprise SaaS software products

Wage Transparency
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $146,400.00 - $235,375.00 base salary
This role is also eligible for the following:
  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
