What is DevSecOps in Azure?

DevSecOps in Azure refers to integrating security practices into the development and operations processes using Azure tools and services. It emphasizes continuous security, automated testing, and compliance within CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure application deployment and management. Professionals in this role often work with Azure Security Center, Azure DevOps, and related security frameworks.

Will AI replace Azure DevSecOps?

AI is unlikely to fully replace Azure DevSecOps professionals, as their role involves designing, implementing, and managing complex security and automation processes within Azure environments. Instead, AI tools are expected to augment their work by automating routine tasks, enhancing security analysis, and improving efficiency, making DevSecOps roles more focused on strategic oversight and problem-solving.

How much does Azure DevOps pay per hour?

Azure DevSecOps professionals typically earn between $40 and $80 per hour, depending on experience, location, and certifications. Salaries can vary based on the complexity of security integrations, cloud environment, and organizational size.

Is Azure DevOps in demand?

Azure DevSecOps professionals are in high demand due to the increasing adoption of cloud computing and the need for integrated security practices in development pipelines. Skills in Azure DevOps, security automation, and CI/CD pipelines are highly sought after across various industries.

What is the difference between Azure Devsecops vs Azure Security Engineer?

Azure Devsecops focuses on embedding security into the development and deployment process, emphasizing automation and integration within DevOps workflows. In contrast, Azure Security Engineers primarily manage and implement security measures, monitor security posture, and respond to threats within Azure environments. Both roles require overlapping certifications and work closely in organizations aiming for secure, efficient cloud operations.

What are some common challenges faced by Azure DevSecOps professionals when integrating security into the CI/CD pipeline?

Azure DevSecOps professionals often encounter challenges such as ensuring consistent security policies across various development teams, automating security checks without slowing down deployments, and keeping up with evolving cloud security threats. Balancing the need for rapid delivery with comprehensive security testing can be tricky, especially when integrating tools like Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and third-party solutions. Effective collaboration with development, operations, and security teams is crucial to address vulnerabilities early and foster a security-first culture throughout the software lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Azure DevSecOps Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Azure DevSecOps Engineer, you need expertise in cloud computing, software development, security best practices, and experience with Microsoft Azure services, often supported by certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert. Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and security scanning tools is typically required. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help professionals navigate complex environments and work effectively across teams. These competencies are crucial for building secure, scalable solutions and ensuring rapid, reliable software delivery in a cloud-first world.

What are Azure DevSecOps roles and responsibilities?

Azure DevSecOps professionals are responsible for integrating security practices into the DevOps process on Microsoft Azure. Their key tasks include automating security checks, managing secure code deployments, configuring security policies, and monitoring systems for vulnerabilities. Job description

Role Overview

The Solutions Architect serves as the technical visionary for our growth team. You will translate complex federal requirements into modern, scalable architectures and author the "Technical Volume" of our proposals. You bridge the gap between abstract client needs and executable engineering plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture Design: Lead solutioning sessions to design end-to-end architectures involving Cloud (AWS/Azure), DevSecOps, and AI/ML modernizations.
  • Lead Technical Authoring: Act as the "Lead Writer" for the Technical Volume. Translate engineering concepts into persuasive, compliant narratives that evaluators can easily score.
  • Artifact Creation: Develop high-quality architecture diagrams (Visio/Lucidchart), system views, and technical workflows for proposal inclusion.
  • Technical "Shaping": Support the Capture Manager in technical briefings with agency SMEs, demonstrating ResolveSoft’s technical thought leadership.
  • Opportunity Tracking: Ensuring all live and upcoming ops are tracked in NextStage.
  • Staffing & BOEs: Collaborate with Project Managers to develop the Labor Mix and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) to ensure the solution is both technically sound and price competitive.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years in Systems Engineering, IT Architecture, or Technical Proposal Writing.
  • Technical Stack:
    • Proficiency in Cloud Migration, Microservices, and Salesforce/MS Dynamics integrations.
    • Experience integrating large language models (LLMs) and utilizing cloud-native AI services, such as AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or Google Cloud AI, within secure government boundaries.
    • Familiarity with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) pipelines, vector databases, and the data governance required to successfully train and deploy AI models.
  • Applied AI/ML Experience: 2+ years of experience designing and solutioning practical Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning architectures (e.g., Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for federal use cases.
  • Responsible AI & Compliance: Proven understanding of federal AI guidelines, including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), data privacy, and deploying AI models within FedRAMP-authorized environments.
  • Communication: Exceptional written communication; must be a "Lead Writer" capable of producing high-scoring technical volumes.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Machine Learning, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or equivalent industry AI/ML credentials.
