Business Analyst III

The Business Analyst III position performs advanced business analysis and takes part in the planning and implementation of data governance tools for the DSHS agency. The contractor will support in the data collection, identification of data assets from various sources, filling the template for setup and overall implementation of metadata management and data governance for all data assets. The contractor will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and processed to build an operational metadata management process.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience as a senior Business Analyst (Technical).
  • 8+ Years of experience with enterprise data analytics, integration, and management, working with data warehouse and data governance technologies
  • Experience with Informatica Data Governance tools preferred

  • Comfortable working both independently and within cross-functional, collaborative teams
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • 8+ years of experience as a business analyst analyzing raw data using Excel, Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Ability to present information to a variety of audiences, verbally and in writing, and to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to change or modify behavior in response to changes in situations or priorities.
  • Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, other information technology teams and program stakeholders.
  • Summarize information for leadership and stakeholder reporting.
  • Conduct design meetings, metadata modeling conversations, and creating slide decks for project review and status reporting.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Skill in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information, including regulations, and policies.
  • Able to create process flows, data flow diagrams
  • Designs and implements data acquisition strategies and solutions as required.
  • Familiarity with Texas Data Management Framework.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
