Job description

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.
At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We're explorers, pursuing society's most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you'll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Axon 911 brings together Prepared and Carbyne under Axon. Together, we are creating the only platform that combines modern 911 infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer-helping public safety agencies move faster, make better decisions, and deliver better outcomes in the moments that matter most.
911 is the backbone of public safety, yet the professionals behind it have long been held back by outdated technology. Axon 911 is here to change that. Joining this team means more than taking a job-it means helping shape the future of emergency response and building a safer, more connected world.Your Impact
  • Lead network projects, including network establishment, upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Configure and maintain Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco switches, and routers, among other networking equipment and ensure network security by implementing best practices and conducting regular security audits.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability and perform production system upgrades, as well as debug sessions independently in a mission-critical live system.
  • Thrive in a high-activity/fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities and resolve complex problems independently, leveraging data analytics and troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to build and resolve network-related challenges.
  • Perform network infrastructure deployments leveraging IaC tools and pipelines
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
What You'll Do
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our Global Operations team. As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the designing, integration, and implementation process of our innovative public safety products for our clients in the national first responders systems (911) and government sectors worldwide. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of service is delivered to our customers 24/7.
What You Bring:
  • Experience: Min. 3 years of hands-on experience in network administration or engineering, preferably within a fast-paced or critical service environment.
  • In Office: This role requires you to be in office 4x a week in NYC.
  • Responsibilities: Network deployment and Tier-3 support
  • Core Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of core concepts including: TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VPNs, and DNS.
  • Hardware & Security Experience: Working knowledge of Cisco switches/routers, Fortinet firewalls, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Cloud Networking: Familiarity with AWS networking basics (VPCs, Direct Connect, Route 53, Ingress/Egress traffic flow).
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze network logs, perform packet captures, and track down root causes for production issues.
  • Tools & Automation: Exposure to network monitoring tools (Datadog, PRTG), Git, or modern DevOps tools (VS Code, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to explain technical details clearly to team members and non-technical stakeholders
Benefits that Benefit You
  • Competitive salary and 401k with employer match
  • Discretionary paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for all
  • Medical, Dental, Vision plans
  • Fitness Programs
  • Emotional & Mental Wellness support
