AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. The AWS Network Firewall team delivers a managed network security service that makes it easy to deploy essential protections for Amazon Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). Our team combines deep networking expertise with security knowledge to help customers safeguard their cloud infrastructure against emerging threats.
We focus on building scalable, high-performance solutions that protect customer workloads without compromising application performance. By continuously innovating and simplifying network security, we enable customers to implement consistent security policies across their entire AWS footprint - reducing complexity while maintaining robust protection against unauthorized access and potential attacks.
About the team
The AWS Network Firewall team prides itself on raising the operational bar while delivering the most advanced AWS security features for customers. We integrate seamlessly with other AWS network services like Transit Gateway (TGW), NAT Gateway (NATGW), and Internet Gateway (IGW). Our team continuously innovates to solve complex technical challenges at massive scale, and we foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and customer obsession.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- 3+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience
- 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience
- 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience
- 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
