Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect

Location: Sacramento, CA

Duration: 24+ months

Job Description:

AWS Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of networking services, including VPC, EBS, EC2, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), AWS Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, CloudFront, VPN, and Security Groups.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Security services such as AWS Security Hub, Guarduty, Amazon Inspector, AWS IAM, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, AWS Config.
  • Expertise in managing and deploying CloudFormation templates and CloudStackSets to implement new technologies in our environment and manage them effectively.
  • Managed Windows Server infrastructure across on-premises and AWS EC2 environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and system reliability.
  • Administered Microsoft SCCM (Configuration Manager) for OS deployment, software distribution, patch management, compliance reporting, and endpoint configuration.
  • Implemented and managed AWS security services including AWS IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, AWS Config, AWS WAF, and AWS Shield to strengthen the organization's cloud security posture.
  • Designed and enforced IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege access controls for AWS resources and enterprise applications.

Terraform:

  • Proficiency in writing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Documentation Skills:

  • Strong ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation for processes, architectures, and configurations.

Programming and Configuration Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Go Language, YAML, JSON, and experience using GitHub and Visual Studio Code effectively.

Hands-On Technical Engineer:

  • We need a technical engineer who can implement and execute solutions, not just someone focused on conceptual designs.

Teamwork and Independence:

  • We are looking for an engineer who is eager to work as part of a team on large-scale projects.
  • The ideal candidate should be capable of collaborating as a team member while also being able to work independently as a silo when required.

Mandatory Qualification:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems development, analysis, programming, or testing.
  • Bachelor s Degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience analyzing highly complex business, information, and technical problems and deriving an integrated business solution.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience architecting systems in AWS.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with infrastructure as code (IAC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation across multiple AWS accounts or Serverless Application Model (SAM).
