Job description

We are looking for an experienced operations leader to oversee freight forwarding and logistics activity in Carson, California. This role is responsible for keeping shipments, projects, and customer commitments on track while creating a disciplined, responsive operating environment across the team. The ideal candidate brings strong operational judgment, a hands-on management style, and deep familiarity with CargoWise One to help drive accuracy, accountability, and timely execution.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the daily execution of freight forwarding and logistics workflows, ensuring shipments and related projects move forward accurately and within required timelines.
• Monitor active orders, upcoming milestones, service exceptions, and unresolved tasks so priorities remain visible and work progresses without delays.
• Coordinate end-to-end operational activity across bookings, documentation, carriers, warehouse support, trucking, final delivery, and customer updates.
• Build and maintain a consistent cadence for the operations team through clear planning, regular follow-up, and defined ownership of next steps.
• Anticipate operational risks early, intervene on complex or urgent matters, and drive issues through to resolution before they affect service commitments.
• Provide direct leadership to operations staff by coaching performance, reinforcing standards, and developing stronger independent decision-making across the team.
• Allocate workload and coverage effectively to support collaboration while maintaining clear responsibility for deadlines, accuracy, and client deliverables.
• Step into high-priority shipments, sensitive customer situations, and time-critical exceptions when direct involvement is needed to ensure successful outcomes.
• Maintain accurate operational visibility within CargoWise One and use the system to support execution, communication, and accountability across activities.• Demonstrated leadership experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation operations, with responsibility for day-to-day execution.
• Strong working knowledge of CargoWise One and the ability to use it as a core operational management tool.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
• Experience coaching and supervising team members, including setting expectations and addressing performance concerns promptly.
• Solid understanding of shipment coordination, carrier management, documentation processes, warehouse interaction, and delivery planning.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately and drive timely resolution.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to customer service, internal coordination, and operational updates.
