Companies in aviation services ensure that flights operate safely, efficiently, and on schedule by managing logistics both on the ground and in the air. The field encompasses both commercial and private aviation and is vital to the global transportation network.

  • Serve as a primary aviation point of contact for senior leaders and executive assistants, providing coordination support, guidance, and issue resolution.
  • Establish service standards, communication expectations, and escalation protocols for aviation travel.

  • Support aviation travel decision-making, including routing, aircraft utilization, and service tradeoffs.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., security, compliance, finance, tax, and leadership support teams) to ensure aviation travel aligns with enterprise expectations.
  • Ensure appropriate consideration of travel risk and special circumstances associated with aviation travel.
Analytics, Reporting & Administrative Oversight
  • Oversee aviation data collection, record-keeping, and reporting related to flight activity, utilization, and service delivery.
  • Support preparation of aviation-related reports and information used for business, financial, and regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of aviation data provided to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional administrative and analytical duties as assigned by the Director, Aerial Services.
Safety, Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Participate in and actively support the Safety Management System (SMS) and IS-BAO standards.
  • Ensure aviation services and coordination activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, safety expectations, and company policy.
  • Model Southern Company's values of Safety First, Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance, and Total Commitment.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in aviation services, coordination, or other highly regulated operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of aviation scheduling, coordination, and dispatch principles.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for operational service delivery, coordination, or customer support.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Proficiency with aviation, business, and office software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate (preferred).
  • Experience supporting Part 91 and/or Part 91K flight operations.
  • Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) certification.
