The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design projects across various sectors, including education, public works, transportation, water/wastewater, aviation, and government.

This role involves the full lifecycle management of mechanical and plumbing system projects—HVAC, piping, refrigeration, ductwork, fire protection, and more. You will be responsible for planning, design oversight, team coordination, client communication, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Oversight & Quality Control:

    • Lead engineering calculations and assessments for mechanical systems.

    • Guide junior engineers and ensure quality assurance of deliverables.

  • Project Management:

    • Develop and manage project scope, budgets, and schedules.

    • Monitor progress, coordinate resources, and prepare reports/invoices.

    • Ensure compliance with codes and permitting requirements.

    • Manage internal and external project teams, including subconsultants.

  • Client & Team Collaboration:

    • Act as main point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors.

    • Participate in presentations, proposals, and business development efforts.

    • Resolve field construction issues and provide technical support.

  • Leadership & Development:

    • Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members.

    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.

    • Champion continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and plumbing design.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and building load simulation software (IESVE, Carrier HAP preferred).

  • Strong understanding of mechanical/plumbing codes and energy codes.

  • Must pass Motor Vehicle screening.
