Description
HMB is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead our Indiana Highways Design efforts and to hire and mentor a team.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with 12 to 15+ years of experience working on significant INDOT and local transportation projects; bringing financial management experience, strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to facilitate meetings with clients/targets and project stakeholders, as well as manage project staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • The role involves serving as key project manager for statewide transportation program, including both INDOT and local public agency projects
  • Manage and oversee the work of multi-discipline design teams including staying within budget and milestone dates, maintaining profitability 
  • Collaborate with existing staff in achieving business growth, quality of work product, client satisfaction, and project profitability goals and objectives within the Indiana market
  • Routinely interface with clients, project stakeholders, and sub-consultants for coordinated project / program delivery
  • Participate in business development, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and meeting presentations 
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with quality control standards
  • Participate in the development of the annual and strategic plans 
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required, assigned, or apparent by business needs

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BS or MS in Civil, Structural or related engineering discipline 
  • Indiana PE or ability to obtain license within 6 months
  • 12 + years of project design and management experience
  • Project management experience with transportation and/or transit projects, winning and serving clients on projects/successful project delivery, and versatility to oversee and manage supporting staff on a day-to-day basis
  • Familiarity with Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) administrative processes / policies / practices and design standards, or willingness to prioritize familiarization in short order
  • Strong leadership and financial management experience
  • Willingness to work on projects and acquire licensure in multiple states
