What is an aviation maintenance contract?

An aviation maintenance contract is a formal agreement between an aircraft operator or owner and a maintenance service provider. This contract outlines the scope, terms, and conditions under which maintenance, repairs, and inspections will be performed on aircraft or aircraft components. Such contracts help ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations, optimize aircraft availability, and often provide cost predictability for ongoing maintenance needs. They can be customized based on the specific requirements of the aircraft and the operator's operational needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an aviation maintenance contract role?

To excel in Aviation Maintenance Contract positions, you need strong technical expertise in aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and compliance with aviation regulations, typically supported by an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent qualification. Familiarity with maintenance management systems, diagnostic tools, and regulatory documentation (such as FAA or EASA guidelines) is crucial. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective teamwork are important soft skills in this field. These competencies ensure aircraft safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations within the aviation industry.

What are some common challenges faced in an aviation maintenance contract role, and how can applicants prepare for them?

Aviation Maintenance Contract roles often require adapting quickly to new aircraft, systems, and regulatory requirements, since contracts may vary by client or location. Technicians must be ready to handle tight deadlines while maintaining high safety and quality standards, often working in fast-paced environments where teamwork and communication are crucial. To prepare, applicants should stay current with industry certifications, familiarize themselves with diverse aircraft types, and cultivate strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Embracing flexibility and continuous learning is key to success in these dynamic contract settings.

About AeroCore Technologies:

AeroCore Technologies is redefining aviation maintenance. As the inventor and patent holder of Nucleated Foam Technology, we engineer industry-leading solutions that elevate all aspects of the engine wash program โ€” helping our customers clean better, operate quicker, and fly longer, across both military and commercial aircraft.

Join a team building technology that delivers the largest return-on-investment in the industry, reducing costs, increasing operational speed, and protecting long-term engine health from day one. Here, your work directly shapes how operators, maintenance crews, and program leaders experience less downtime and stronger engine performance.

Headquartered in Brownsburg, Indiana, AeroCore operates across multiple sites throughout the United States and internationally โ€” offering the opportunity to grow your career alongside a company bringing cutting-edge technology to where customers need it most. Weโ€™re proud to have been recognized as a Best in Class Workplace Culture & Employee Appreciation winner by USA Today Top Workplaces in both 2025 and 2026โ€”an achievement that reflects the strength, dedication, and passion of our people.

Role Summary:

AeroCore is hiring a Head of Commercial Customer Programs to drive follow-through across customer accounts, proposals, contracts, meetings, and internal coordination โ€” removing execution overhead so commercial leadership can focus on strategy and relationships, not logistics. This person owns program operations across AeroCore's domestic and international commercial customer base, standardizing how the organization tracks commitments, prepares for engagements, and manages account cadences at scale.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone organized, responsive, credible with customers, and comfortable operating across both defense and commercial aviation environments, as well as multiple regions, time zones, and customer types.

Role Specifics:
  • Travel Required: Up to 20%
  • Own follow-up and coordination across key domestic and international commercial customer accounts
  • Track commitments, action items, milestones, site readiness dates, and escalations
  • Build and maintain a centralized operating cadence for customer updates, weekly status reporting, and quarterly reviews
  • Prepare leaders for customer and internal meetings so they arrive briefed and focused on decisions, not logistics
  • Coordinate meeting content, presentation materials, and account review inputs
  • Standardize recurring business development and program materials: proposals, templates, briefing content
  • Conduct first-pass review of NDAs, contracts, and customer documents; flag deviations and route for rapid approval
  • Support handoff and coordination between business development, program execution, operations, and leadership as accounts move through their lifecycle
  • Structure account management rhythms: monthly pulse checks, quarterly leadership engagements, annual executive touchpointsCreate systems and templates that reduce one-off work and improve repeatability across accounts and regions
  • Surface risks early when timelines, deliverables, or customer commitments begin to slip
Role Requirements:
  • Strong background in program coordination, project management, or chief of staffโ€“style roles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams with speed and precision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable engaging senior leaders and representing the organization to external customers
  • Skilled at synthesizing discussions into clear actions, owners, and timelines
  • Sound judgment on when to elevate issues versus drive them independently
  • Process-oriented but pragmatic, with high responsiveness and a bias for action
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Familiarity with customer-facing coordination, proposals, and contract workflows
  • Experience working with both domestic and international stakeholders or accounts
Preferred Experience for This Position:
  • Background in aerospace, aviation, defense, or military-adjacent programs
  • Prior experience as a military officer (JMO), chief of staff, PMO lead, or in strategic operations
  • Experience navigating international business norms and customer relationships
  • Full Uniform entitlement to include work boot and Rx Safety glasses stipend
  • Annual Merit Based Pay Increases and spot bonus availability for performance
  • BYOD stipend of $50 per month
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD & LTD)
  • Company Paid Life Insurance Policy of $50,000 with AD& D addendum
  • 401K with Employer Match
  • Paid parental leave and military leave
  • 80 hours of paid time off (PTO) annually
  • 40 hours of sick leave
  • Compensatory time (available on a situational basis)
