Job description

We are looking for a Senior Claims Adjuster - Aviation (m/f/d). The Senior Aviation Claims Adjuster will handle General Aviation and Program Aviation claims, ith end-to-end responsibility. This opportunity can be based in our Alpharetta location.
The Impact You Will Have
The Senior Aviation Claims Adjuster will handle General Aviation and Program Aviation claims, ensuring claims are handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Handle General Aviation and Program Aviation claims
Investigation and Reserving of Claims
  • Investigate claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures

  • Determine appropriate reserving levels; Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)

  • Proactively discuss and review contentious, large and complex claims with fellow management and internal stakeholders to obtain opinions/feedback.

  • Evaluate, confirm coverage and determine appropriate reserving levels.

Claims Processing and Administration
  • Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems

  • Proactively review late/nonpayment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts

  • Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends

Referrals and Compliance
  • Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines

  • Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate

  • Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters

  • Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate

Market Management & Relationship Management
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)

  • Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives

  • Positively represent AGCS externally to the market

  • Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations; and Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)

What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of specialized understanding of General Aviation and Program Aviation products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge.

  • Bachelors Degree - Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline

  • Claim Handling: Solid knowledge of claim handling process from notification to settlement and recovery

  • Products and Coverages: understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages

  • Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application

  • Savvy negotiation skills. Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience understanding of legal and regulatory framework

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market

  • Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework

  • A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential

  • Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing

  • Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. AIC, CPCU)

The annualized base pay range for this role is $87,545 to $132,236. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
