Job Description
As a Sr Buyer/Planner at Avery Dennison, you will play a key role in driving materials planning, purchasing, inventory management, supplier relations, and supply chain projects to ensure optimized plant performance and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
This is an on-site role located at our Mt Prospect, IL facility.
  • Drive short-term and long-term materials planning with all suppliers, including creating and maintaining supplier stocking strategies and VMI programs.
  • Issue supplier POs to ensure optimized inventory levels, managing supplier production schedules and delivery to meet plant and customer needs.
  • Support the global S&OP planning process, inventory management, and participate in the plant physical inventory process as needed.
  • Build and maintain lasting partnerships with the global supply base, collaborate with Global Procurement on pricing tables, and maintain master data accuracy.
  • Initiate and lead efforts in projects focused on planning optimization, inventory reduction, service improvement, root cause analysis, product transitions, and cost-out analysis.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, System Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, planning, scheduling, or purchasing (APICS, CPM, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of Supply / Demand Planning, MRP, and ERP concepts, as well as manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with problem-solving capabilities, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive and collaborative working style with excellent verbal and written communication skills and project management abilities.

Additional Information
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000/ year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
