Job description

Role Overview:
This role involves the configuration, administration, and maintenance of complex Telephony Systems, with a strong focus on Avaya Unified Communications environments and AWS Connect. The engineer will be responsible for establishing and verifying voice and data networks, troubleshooting outages, and managing system escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish voice and data networks by programming features, establishing interfaces and integrations, and activating remote access tools.
  • Verify service by testing and reprogramming circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying and correcting problems.
  • Document Telecom networks by recording configuration diagrams and programming.
  • Maintain telecom networks by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network backup procedures, and updating documentation.
  • Administer Avaya phone systems, including Call Vector Designing, testing, problem-solving, and voicemail systems.
  • Complete and support Service Desk escalations for Voice Adds, Moves, and Changes in Avaya, Uptivity, TASKE, and AWS Connect.
  • Monitor and document systems user and license usage, completing system audits and cleanup.
  • Manage all work through the HEAT ticket system and/or Agile Sprint project tracking.

Required Skills:
  • Experience in Telephony Systems configuration, including Avaya Call Manager, System Manager, and Voicemail Systems.
  • Proficiency with NICE Uptivity Call Recording, Screen capture, and TASKE Reporting.
  • Experience with Cisco, Secure Telephone, and Video Communications.
  • Advanced understanding of technical and functional aspects of Avaya PBX systems.
  • Ability to administer the Avaya Unified Communications environment.
  • Expertise in AWS Connect configuration and administration.
  • Capability to establish communication systems by programming Voice and Data Telecommunications network Circuits and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and architecture.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • 8-12+ years of experience in Telephony Systems, Unified Communications, or Telecom Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Telecommunications Architecture.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and system troubleshooting abilities.
