Elite Coast Psychotherapy Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. As a remote practice based in Knoxville, Tennessee, our telehealth platform allows our counselors to connect with clients from the comfort of their homes. The remote work setting promotes flexibility and autonomy while ensuring that quality care remains the core focus. Counselors will utilize electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations via telehealth, documenting case histories from the initial consultation through the conclusion of treatment.
• Develop tailored treatment plans based on individual assessments, incorporating evidence-based strategies and therapeutic techniques suitable for various client demographics.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing virtual platforms to create an engaging and supportive environment for clients.
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout treatment, making adjustments to intervention strategies as needed to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure interconnected care and comprehensive support for clients.
• Provide follow-up assessments for clients requiring hospital admission, ensuring continuity of care and addressing any emerging mental health needs.
• Identify barriers to client recovery and implement strategies to overcome these challenges, fostering resilience and self-efficacy among clients.
• Assist family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, empowering them to be effective support systems.

This role primarily focuses on a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, and families experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. Our clients include those dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. The counselor will work to establish trusting relationships that encourage open communication and facilitate healing, with a particular emphasis on culturally sensitive practices that respect each client’s unique background and experiences.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong understanding of the latest developments in psychotherapy methods and practices.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably within a telehealth or remote setting.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, for case documentation and treatment management.
• Experience working with diverse client populations, including those with addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and treatment methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge regarding pharmacological interventions and their effects on patient mental health.
